Even if I’m not wearing any other makeup, mascara is imperative! I love how it opens my eyes up and makes me look more awake, even on mornings when I’m exhausted. I have a huge collection of mascara-which unfortunately I have to weed out constantly because of the expiration-but a few are my faves. Before I tell you which I love, here are the top eight most popular mascaras according to Sephora!
1. Lancome Oscillation ($34)
“This revolutionary mascara provides 7,000 oscillations per minute for ultimate lash transformation. Press the button and experience a breakthrough sensation in application. In one easy new gesture, let the vibrating brush combined with an exquisitely smooth formula wrap every lash up to 360 degrees.”
2. Bare Escentuals Buxom Lash ($18)
“Blackest Black holds the style of your lashes for a continuous 12 hours with no flakiness. The silky, vitamin-rich formula darkens, lengthens, and thickens from root to tip without ever clumping. Its patented hourglass-shaped brush is designed to lift and separate every lash while delivering the perfect amount of antioxidant-rich mascara needed for bigger, fuller lashes.”
3. Diorshow Mascara ($24)
“DiorShow Mascara is Dior’s original, must-have mascara that delivers ultra-glam, catwalk-length lashes. Makeup artists all over the world use this product to create the longest, thickest, curviest lashes.”
4. Sephora Brand Lash Stretcher ($16)
“Sephora Brand Lash Stretcher is like false lashes in a tube. This innovative formula places fibers at the top of your natural lashes, creating epic effects. A patented, curved brush lifts and curls the lashes for a wow-worthy, wide-eyed look.”
5. benefit BADgal Waterproof Mascara ($19)
“Benefit BADgal Waterproof Mascara has a smudge-proof, tear-proof, and long-wearing formula combined with a custom brush that spirals around the stem to lift, curl, and separate every lash. Get ready for lashes with a little more oomph and a lot more drama.”
6. LORAC Special Effects Mascara ($22)
“LORAC Special Effects Mascara delivers a double dose of lash beauty. One side is a primer containing natural oils, DL-Panthenol, and plant extracts to revitalize your lashes, making them stronger and softer. The other side features a carbon black Defining and Lengthening Mascara that is formulated with unique polymers to stretch and hold lash shape for clump and flake-free lashes. Both formulas are infused with Mother of Pearl to keep lashes supple, healthy, and shiny.”
7. Clinique High-Impact Curling Mascara ($14)
“Coaxes lashes to their longest, boldest, most upturned look yet, without a pinch, pull, tug, or tear. Arched wand scoops up, lifts up every last lash. Smudge, flake, smear-resistant for up to 24 eye-opening hours. Opthamologist tested. Appropriate for contact lens wearers.”
8. Imju Fiberwig Tiny Sniper ($15)
“Tiny Sniper is the same formula as the Fiberwige top-selling mascara in Japan-beating the competition with remarkable, “false eyelash-like” results. Never miss a lash with Imju Fiberwig Tiny Sniper lengthening mascara. Get a fuller look and extreme reach by catching short, thin, and hard-to-reach corner and lower lashes. Tiny Sniper has a specially designed brush, with its ultra-fine angled head and easy-to-hold grip, to make precise application a breeze.”
I’ll admit it-I haven’t actually tried most of these mascaras. However, Clinique High-Impact Curling Mascara (Number 7) is the first mascara in my favorite two step combo! My daily lash routine is to put on a generous coating of the Curling Mascara, and before it’s entirely dry, I put on a coat of MAC’s PlushLash mascara (both in black). Sometimes I add another layer of Plushlash and run a little bit of the Lancome mascara over my bottom lashes. The result is enormous, full, healthy looking lashes that get me tons of compliments but aren’t so over the top that I look like I’m wearing false lashes.
So, what’s your favorite mascara? Have you tried any of the ones on the list? Any special tips or tricks? I’d love to k now!
