Born in Argentina of Korean decent but raised in New York, Grace SooHoo is from a family of experienced clothing manufacturers. She briefly worked in media production but had always harbored ideas of eventually working in the garment industry. It was at a gathering with girlfriends in the early 1990s when the subject of problems caused by menstruation sparked an idea for Grace. She eventually produced a prototype that ultimately proved inadequate. She realized that aside from its primary function, the product had to be comfortable and stylish as well.
Period Undies were subjected to rigorous and meticulous testing in terms of withstanding multiple machine washings and stretching along with its ability to serve as an effective layer of protection for women during the heaviest days of their cycle.
Okay so this? This is a genius idea. There’s something so incredibly frustrating about ruining adorable, often expensive, undergarments because of a little leak during an unpleasant week. I’m sure every girl has panties that are saved specifically for “that time of the month” but that doesn’t mean we’re glad to see them get ruined, and it definitely doesn’t mean they stop leaks! So panties that are actually made specifically to wear during your period – I’m all over that.
I’m on the three month cycle birth control (which I LOVE and HIGHLY recommend, by the way), but as luck would have it, I got my period waaaaay early this month. Perfect time to test these panties though, right? I won’t get into all the details, but basically, I generally suffer from major leakage. These panties do a great job at stopping that… I might even be confident to wear a light summer dress with these babies on. Might be.
My only complaint is that they’re a bit tight. The site says that they should fit snugly in order to do their job, but I felt like they ran a bit too small – so you may want to order up, especially if you carry more of your weight in the hips/butt region. Since that’s my only complaint, and it’s a relative non-issue, I recommend stocking up on seven pairs… Because really, who wants to do laundry while cramping? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
Simple Necessit-Ease Period Undies are available in several styles and colors. They retail for $22 per 2-pair pack and are worth every freakin’ penny. Use whatever’s left to stock the fridge with Ben & Jerry’s and hit the Redbox for chick flicks. Aww, yeah.

I just recently came to know about Adira Period Panty and decided to give it a shot. It was brilliant! I just wish I had known about it sooner.
