Since I first saw All Lacquered Up’s review of the Sleigh Ride collection from China Glaze, I’ve been unable to think of any other polish! I mentioned the obsession to my wonderful boyfriend, who surprised me with my own set just a few days later!
Though I’m often not a big fan of China Glaze (due mainly to the thickness of the polish), I really love these three polishes!
Emerald Sparkle is probably my favorite. I don’t have photos of me wearing it (I’m currently lacking a camera), but you can check out the swatches from ALU in the link above! Seriously, an dark green glitter polish is something I haven’t seen before, and I’m totally in love with it. The only downside is that two coats are a minimum-you have to be really thorough with both coats or else you’re going to wind up with some streaky patches. However, the extra effort is totally worth it… I got compliments on my nails all week!
Next up is Tinsel, which I’m currently sporting. It’s gorgeous, but not too much different than the glitter polishes offered by Cover Girl. While Tinsel does provide a higher amount of coverage, you can still see the white tips of your nails underneath two coats. Three does the trick, but you really need to allow a lot of drying time between coats! The polish is a tiny bit on the thick side; once again, though, the results are worth it!
Last up is the stunning Ruby Pumps. While it looks a little bit on the fuschia side in the photo above, it’s definitely a true red-and a stunning one, at that! I felt as though I could have gone with only one coat, but two made it totally irresistible. Not only is it completely Dorothy-esque, but I think I might wear it to the campus screen of Rocky Horror. Don’t worry though, it’s not THAT over the top; it’s just a really eye catching color. I think for Christmas, I’ll be alternating nails with all three colors!
You can pick up your very own set of Sleigh Ride for $15.00 (shipping included) over at Marlo Beauty’s website! You’ll also get a really adorable Christmas themed nail file in the set; add a little bit of tissue paper, and you’ve got a great Christmas present for any of your friends!
