Up until the summer of 2008, I completely refused to wear sandals. I’m freaked out by feet, and had no desire to show mine off. However, wearing sneakers all year long… Well, to put it plainly: It sucked. My feet were hot and uncomfortable, and sneakers (or other closed-toe footwear) looked silly when it was ninety something degrees and I was wearing little dresses or skirts and tank tops. Finally, overcome by all the super-adorable footwear options that would meet my fashion needs and keep me from feeling overly self conscious about having “bare” feet, I bought my first pair of flip flops! Yeah, I know- I’m weird : )
While Havaianas wasn’t my first brand of summer footwear, they’ve been the purveyor of many sandals I’ve coveted since “the transition.” Havaianas has flip flops for all occasions (except those where more formal footwear is required, of course)! From simple colors and basic designs to trendier styles and gorgeous patterns, there’s something for even the most picky shopper! Here are a few of the pairs that really caught my eye:
The hot pink Fit pair is the one that I loved most, and the one that I finally decided on. The Fit reminded me of all the great gladiator styles that are so popular right now-but in a softer, more wearable way. Plus, I love anything hot pink. The Fit Havaianas are really well made, and very durable. It seems that most flip flops need to be thrown away at the end of the season, but Havaianas will just replace your winter shoes in storage until it’s time to set your feet free again! So, even though $20 or so seems like a lot for a pair of flip flops, the savings of not having to buy new pairs year after year will wind up saving you money in the long run! The company has been around since 1962 and is constantly opening stores all over the globe… So you know they’ve gotta be good!
Oh, and I couldn’t help posting these- they glow in the dark!

Havaianas are so fashionable today! And to think this little brazilian flip flop was something everyday people used to walk around the house (as they were the cheapest ones around when I was a kid!). Now they have a fulllllllll, beautiful collection. So cool!
I’ve been an Havaianas fan for as long as I can remember and my baby had her first pair of Havaianas as soon as she learned to walk! lol

I must admit, I own at least 10 pair of Havaianas, a pair for any occasion. Whether I am off to the beach or shopping at Saks, I have a pair that’s just right.
