October is just around the corner and because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, all of our favorite brands are donating money to this great cause!
For the month of October, aerie is donating $1 of every bra sold, up to $50,000 to Bright Pink, a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancers in young women. The bras start at $29.50 and are designed to be pretty, natural and comfortable.
Customers of aerie will also be invited to shop Bright Pink by adding $1 to support the organization at check-out. As a final push, aerie will be hosting in-store parties across the US to help raise awareness and share Bright Pink’s mission. To purchase a bra please visit this link. I highly recommend that you do so as you will be supporting a great cause!
About Bright Pink:
Bright Pink is the only national non-profit organization with dedicated resources for young women who have a high-risk of getting ovarian and/or breast cancer. Through its brochures, products and professionals, including a peer support service and active, local chapters, the organization is dedicated to prevention, education, and support for young women.
Lindsay Avner founded Bright Pink after testing positive for a mutation of the BRCA1 gene. Given her family history, her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother all suffered from breast cancer, she had a lifetime risk of up to 87 percent of developing breast cancer and up to 54 percent of developing ovarian cancer. Following a bilateral prophylactic mastectomy, Lindsay founded Bright Pinkafter she discovered the overwhelming lack of resources for young women who are at a high-risk of getting ovarian and/or breast cancer.
