L’anza Healing Haircare products penetrate deep to nourish and “heal” the hair. I admit that I was thrown off by this product. I expected that it would be more of a nourishing formula that would leave my hair more like a protein conditioner would: stronger and shinier, but I’d still have to use a detangler after. This formula is more for softening the hair. It detangled every inch and really had a lot of slip. The “healing” comes from the hawaiian kukui nut, which is known for it’s moisture properties. The smell is kind of nutty but in a soft scent that isn’t the least bit offensive, and lingers gently on the hair all day.
My favorite feature of this conditioner is the “slip” (how slippery it feels on the hair) it gives my hair for detangling. I can run my comb through my curly/wavy hair with no problem. Rinsing out is a dream too! Just be wary of how much you use since this product can cause build-up. I recommend using a clarifying shampoo beforehand to ensure that the conditioner sinks in. I’ve also used this product as a treatment by wrapping a warm wet towel around my head while wearing it, and it works great. So far I’ve been using it for a week (Once on monday and once earlier this morning) and my hair is easier to manage and actually get’s straighter without a flat iron!
To get a truly straight look – After you rinse out the conditioner follow up with a heat protectant made for blow drying, and use a round from root to ends. Blow dry angling the heat downward to keep the cuticle smooth. Keep the brush taught as you work it down the hair and curl the ends under or over (your preference).
I enjoyed using this conditioner, but the price was pretty steep ($19.99 USD on sale at Folica) so I’ll probably stick with my usual conditioner that works better and (but also costs more) Kerastase oleo relax slim.
