The snow is thawing where I live right now, the temp has risen to 46 degrees Fahrenheit, and people have started complaining about slush…Do you know what this means? Spring is getting closer! With each rise in temperature comes the shedding of those evil shoulder-covering coats and long hemlines. One of my favorite ways to celebrate the spring (or as i refer to it, Summer jr.), is a fresh playful denim dress well fitted to flatter and flirt away all spring. Designers are slowly shying away from boxy silhouettes in favor of girlish ones.
One of my favorite styles is a sleeveless and comfy bib-front style that is versatile enough to wear to a date or just lunch with the girls. This Burberry pick is polished , yet casual and playful but also grown-up enough not to make you feel like your next date should be in a sandbox.
If you prefer more arm coverage a quarter length sleeve on a resort denim shirtdress should set your mind at ease. I personally favor this style from Adam . The 70’s influence is strong in many spring styles, and this pick would go perfectly with cork spring wedges we’ve been seeing all over the runway for spring.
Whatever styles you choose, I hope you have fun with it, and avoid getting to high end with this trend. Part of what makes denim dresses alluring is that they always look fun, and feminine. Stiletto heels would kill the effortless cool of these dresses, so remember to dress it accessories that improve the look and not contradict it. You’re welcome!
