Inspired by the beauty and fashion industries, U by Kotex includes tampons, pads and liners, characterized by bold black packaging with brightly colored accents and wrappers – a change from the institutional look of the feminine care aisle!
Recently, Kotex launched the Declaration of Real Talk Campaign, an initiative to “empower girls and women to take control of their health and bodies.” You can get involved by signing the declaration (or taking it a step further and recording an empowering statement), and for each person that gets involved, Kotex will donate $1 to Girls For A Change. Girls For A Change is an organization that empowers girls to create social change. Since 2000, they’ve expanded to 100 “Girl Action Teams” and a million dollar budget.
I LOVE Kotex’s new advertising! The commercial above is hilarious. “Feminine Care” commercials can be so over-the-top and awkward, but Kotex has made light of the issue in a great way.
I received some of the new Kotex products to check out. The samples included, liners, tampons, and pads. I don’t use tampons, but the bright colored packages, convenient size, and easy applicators from Kotex actually make them tempting.
Kotex pads are my absolute favorite. I have very sensitive skin, so (be prepared for TMI) I often get a skin irritation, even a rash, from most pads. Kotex pads are completely comfortable and don’t cause any duration for the duration of my period, regardless of how long it decides to stick around. I don’t normally use liners, but they’re great for pre and post period issues (read: spotting).
You can find out more about the specifics of each product on the Kotex website. And, more excitingly, you can request free samples! Each sample pack will contain one liner, one pad, and two tampons – a great emergency kit! There’s also a coupon for $1.00 off your next purchase available.
