In this week’s subscriber email from Liz Earle, the brands Environmental Advisor (Geoff, at left) had a few green savvy tips to share. They may seem obvious, but sometimes the most obvious things are the ones we don’t even think about!
- Drinking water is good for you – but in terms of the environment bottled water isn’t quite so healthy. Thousands of tons of CO2 are generated each year by importing bottled water from all over the world, with 75% of empty bottles ending up on landfill. If you drink chilled tap water from a reusable bottle you can reduce your burden on the environment while still enjoying the benefits of hydration!
- Don’t contaminate storm water – if possible, avoid run-off from fertilizers in your yard and try to minimise the amount of detergents and water used when washing your car. Dirt, soil, pet waste and rubbish can all contaminate waterways.
- Switch your bulbs – the EPA is urging all US citizens to change five household lights to use energy efficient bulbs. They claim that if every US household did this it would prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions from nearly 10 million cars.
And while we’re talking about Liz Earle, here are a few Spring deals the brand is currently offering!
This one contains a few of my faves, including the Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser.
The free Exfoliator offer is also available with Superskin Essentials Pack, too!
