I spent a few weeks in Boston recently, but I wasn’t planning spending more than three days. Because of that, I didn’t have any good hair products, lip stick, or body lotion! After shaving my legs a few times, I started getting that terribly itchy, dry feeling. I have buckets and boxes of products at home, so I didn’t want to spend a big amount of money picking up new products-just a few good ones with low price tags that would spare me discomfort the rest of the trip!
We don’t have CVS or Walgreens in Vermont, so when I hit one of the local drugstores, I saw a bunch of brands that were unfamiliar. However, J.R. Watkins had a whole shelf of products that caught my eye (you can read more about the company here). The body creams were reasonably priced, and even better, the body creams were 99.10% natural! The boy and I sniffed a few of them, and and agreed on a favorite.
The Lemon Shea Butter Body Cream smells AMAZING! Every time I put it on, I feel like I’m in the middle of a bakery full of lemon cake! The scent is rich and delicious, but not overwhelming. It with me throughout the day, but not in a manner that other people notice-it’s my own little heavenly scented secret!
What’s even more impressive than the scent is what’s included in the formulation-and what isn’t. It’s free of parabens, dyes, pthalates, sulfates, and petrolatum. However, it does include great ingredients like apricot oil, coconut oil, avocado, babassu, jojoba, and sassflower. The formula is thick and soothing, but completely non-greasy. I love that factor, because I often moisturize my hands and then hop on the computer; getting my keyboard greased up is something that doesn’t please me! However, my favorite use is on my heels & feet; they got so dry during my trip that they actually felt like sandpaper!
3.3 oz will cost you only $7.49. You can also pick up one of the Shea Creams in Vanilla, Lavender, Aloe & Green Tea, and Mango (I didn’t that in the store but I want it!). J.R. Watkins also has a range of lotions, hand & cuticle salves, facial care, foot creams, body oils, lip balms, bath salts, and travel kits.
Even cooler–they have a line of natural home care products! There’s also a section of gourmet spices and extracts, plus a catalog of recipes. I will definitely be trying more of their products, and I’ll tell you guys about what I think!
