Hey ladies! Since this site was “unveiled” today over at TFH, I just wanted to say a quick HEY! to new readers!!! I’m Laney, and I’ll be your guide on all things fashionable. While some of the trends or products I will discuss might lean towards the younger crowd, don’t worry! There will be plenty of content that applies to all ages! I mean, I probably wouldn’t be directing my mom to this page if there wasn’t going to be!
A quick blurb about me:
I used to work for Estee Lauder, so I definitely have some industry training. I also have worked freelance for a few photo shoots in the area! My two best friends are complete makeup addicts, and they often have insider information for me, as well!
Aside from makeup/fashion/all things beauty, I’m a creative writing/psych major in my second year of college. Hopefully all that I’m learning in school with spill over into my writing here, and help give everyone all the knowledge they can handle! I’m also a food lover, so be on the look at for all things culinary–at least those that will help you feel beautiful inside and out!
Before I get back to regular blogging (I’ve got some new products to review!) I want to leave you with a poem… No, it’s not about lipstick or hair color, but every time I read it, I feel beautiful. My hope is that on Sundays or Mondays, I’ll be able to post a poem, quote, or photo that I believe will inspire beauty in all my readers. So, here you go!
PORTRAIT OF A LADY
-William Carlos Williams
- YOUR thighs are appletrees
- whose blossoms touch the sky.
- Which sky? The sky
- where Watteau hung a lady’s
- slipper. Your knees
- are a southern breeze–or
- a gust of snow. Agh! what
- sort of man was Fragonard?
- –as if that answered
- anything. Ah, yes–below
- the knees, since the tune
- drops that way, it is
- one of those white summer days,
- the tall grass of your ankles
- flickers upon the shore–
- Which shore?–
- the sand clings to my lips–
- Which shore?
- Agh, petals maybe. How
- should I know?
- Which shore? Which shore?
- I said petals from an appletree.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Feel free to leave me a comment telling me what you think! Also, I’d LOVE to know about what “unconventional” sources make you feel beautiful! We can all usually benefit from a swipe of mascara or a little blush, but what gives you that INNER glow??? Share with me (again, in the comments) and maybe it’ll be next weeks inspiration!
