Is there anyone here who doesn’t love Target? If there is, please hang your head in shame. Target is a fantastic land of retail goodness-and one that I sadly cannot visit when home in Vermont (we also don’t have MAC or Sephora, for anyone who’s counting). I appreciate Target’s effort to bring high budget designers down to a more affordable place, particularly through the use of Green materials. While I can’t say that everything I buy is utterly eco-friendly, I certainly try! More on that, later, however. For now, I just want to show you a few of the fantastic items currently on sale at Target!
One of my absolute favorites is this sweater I picked up recently! Of course, the sale hadn’t reached my local Target yet so I paid full price, but for an adorable, vaguely-retro librarian type cardigan sweater, I don’t really mind! I also saw the sweater in solid teal, black, white, and red… And of course, more polka dots! My adorable boyfriend jumped online and ordered me one in pink with white dots, and one in green with white dots. Fall, here I come!
I actually wore the sweater today with a simple black skirt and black wife beater (Faded Glory wife beaters in a range of colors are available at Wal-Mart for $4.00 apiece right now-I snatched eight up!) and it gave the whole outfit a more fun and whimsical look, rather than the dreary appearance a solid black outfit often personifies! And, for anyone interested-I wore MAC’s Clear Blue Sky and Mutiny pigments to match. I forgot to photograph the look before my oily face consumed it, but I got a lot of compliments, which means I’ll be doing it again in the near future! Pictures then, I promise.
I’m also kind of in love with this dress. I haven’t seen it at any of the Targets I’ve visited lately, but I think I might need to buy it soon. It’s got a higher price tag than you normally expect on a Target garment-but it shines! Also… anyone else find it a little disturbing that the models’ heads get cut off in most of the Target photos?
I have the black tights and power heels that dress needs! Now I just need some cash…
And now, on a completely unrelated and completely inappropriate side note… Why is Target selling vibrators?
I know, I know, it’s a massager… But is it, really? Or is Target trying to not only monopolize the Hello Kitty market (Hello Sanrio contract!), but also the sexed up, empty pocketed Americans that I so fondly call my friends and family?
Oh, Target… have some shame! Children are watching!
Anyhow, back to the clothing… If I was about 50 pounds lighter and six inches taller, I’m pretty sure I’d throw away everything in my closet and only wear THIS dress!
Even the back is adorable! I’m a little concerned that certain acquaintances or mine (or perhaps strangers) might be tempted to unbutton it, but still! I might not be five anymore, but I’m still a sucker for pink!
And one more before I go… Seriously, lovelies, I would not complain if anyone wanted to buy a pair of these for me! I’m currently wearing out a gorgeous pair of Rocket Dog’s black platform wedges (complete with silver butterflies that are all but specks after months of wear), but that silver strap adds a classy edge that would compliment jewelry in the same shade.
At $14.99, I imagine they’re affordable on almost any budget (even mine!) and are a beautiful way to let your feet enjoy these last weeks of summer! (I know-I know! How dare I mention that summer’s coming to end end! But when school starts back up in less than a month, it’s hard to feel any other way!)
Of course, let me know if you own any of these gorgeous items (even the “massager,” you naughty girl!) and don’t hesitate to share your own Terrific Target Take-Homes!
